Katie received her undergraduate degree in natural sciences from Columbia College in December 2003, and her Master’s Degree in physical therapy from Missouri State University in May 2007. While in Columbia, she played 4 seasons of collegiate volleyball and was a pivotal member of the 2001 NAIA undefeated national championship team as well as a 2 time Academic All-American.  Katie also works as a physical therapist at the Fulton State Hospital. On a professional note, Katie recently completed her post-professional clinical Doctorate of Physical Therapy through Missouri State University.
